Dear Trick or Treat Creator

I am so pleased that our rare interests have found each other! I am a huge fan of the uncanny, and will be thrilled to be creeped out by whatever you make me.  If spookiness isn’t your thing, I’m always happy to receive sex, docufic, or humor (and sexy humor). I enjoy gen and shipfic in equal measure. If you feel really inspired to write (or draw!) something based on general wants, don't worry about ignoring my prompts - I'm just tossing stuff around here, and my heart's not set on anything.

If you're an artist, please don't be intimidated by the detailed/specific writing prompts! You can pull out of any of my general trick/treat wants  and feel confident that I'll love it. 

I don't really use DW, but I am on tumblr quite a bit as sathinfection.  

Trick wants:

General horror, xeno, hauntings, body horror, ghosts, looming doom, blood, landscape horror, treating injuries with pre-modern medicine, surgery, dissection

Treat wants:

Humor (epistolary or documentary fic are some of my favorite routes for this), porn, exploring relationships

General wants:

character studies, sadness, intrigue, UST that resolves by the end of the fic, science, medicine, docufic

Blanket do not wants:

noncon, kidfic, AUs (particularly mundane AUs, i.e. college/coffee shop etc., but canon-divergence AUs are just fine), crossovers/fusions, fluff,  a/b/o, mpreg, pregnancy, self-harm, polyamory, underage, unrequested non-canon pairings

Particular likes and dislikes for sexy stuff, if you’re so inclined:

Likes: emotionally fraught sex, anal, cunnilingus, breathplay, strap-ons, medfet

Dislikes: rough nipple play, humiliation, rimming, watersports/scat, fisting, kink negotiation, BDSM, D/s, explicit het scenes (unless they're xeno)

General art wants: 

My favorite thing is to get art that's in a period-specific style. Medieval art would work really well for almost all of my fandoms; for Jug Face, American Primitive or Naive art would be a great fit. Fake prints would be awesome for Sunless Sea. I'm always happy to get shippy art, and like everything from tame to explicit. If you're comfortable with both art and writing, coming up with an illustrated document facsimile would be amazing.

Dragon Age (The Architect)

I’m going to get this right out there: I think the Architect is really hot. Like, goddamn. Why couldn’t my Warden have gotten to at least hit on him? Awakenings is my favorite little corner of the Dragon Age universe because of how the Darkspawn were developed and the Architect’s inhuman machinations.

Any sort of fic about the Architect’s experiments with Grey Wardens or his relationship with Utha and/or the various other named Darkspawn would be fantastic. Peel back the Architect’s skin a bit!

Also, xeno’s great. I love xeno. I don’t care who the Architect has weird sex with (though I have a soft spot for Utha).  Bonus points for the Architect being really clinical and unfeeling the whole time. Maybe he’s doing an experiment, who knows.

Jug Face (The Pit Monster)

The setting of this movie fascinates me. I love rural Appalachian communities and some of the localized beliefs that spring up in isolation, and sacrificing people to a pit monster is certainly a winner for unique concepts. What I’m most interested in is the setting of this movie, and I’d love something exploring the community’s history or daily life, particularly how the worship of the pit began, the nature of the pit monster itself, or the experiences of the sculptors. Another possibility would be outsider documents about the pit, such as a scientific inquiry, academic notes, or the testimony of someone who escaped the community.

The Lord of the Rings (Berúthiel)

This is partially copy/pasted from my Rare Pairs letter, since I’m still into the same things about Berúthiel.

Sculpture, cats, and Númenor are way up there in terms of what I love, and Berúthiel combines all three. I see two main strategies for writing her: either she was exactly as bad as historians said she was (or worse!), or she was recorded in the histories as an evil woman because it was politically expedient. I'd be delighted to read either one of these scenarios. Docufic is great!

I think this description of her is fascinating: "She hated all colours and elaborate adornment, wearing only black and silver and living in bare chambers, and the gardens of the house in Osgiliath were filled with tormented sculptures beneath cypresses and yews." - Unfinished Tales, notes to the Istari. It's such an arresting image which calls to be filled out - why did she live this way, and why did it please her?

If you go with the evil!Berúthiel route, please don't include graphic descriptions of cat torture. Maybe she actually loved cats; who knows with these Gondorian historical revisionists! You could get spooky and have Berúthiel using witchcraft - perhaps those cats are familiars as well as spies? Was she a servant of Sauron? 

Also if you happen to feel like writing about Berúthiel having a romance/fling with an OFC, I’d love it. There didn't seem to be much love/sharing of space between her and her husband, considering the boat divorce.

The Silmarillion (Mîm, Túrin)

Have you ever wanted to write a sympathetic character study of Mîm the Petty-dwarf? Here’s your chance! I’m desperately interested in Mîm’s mixed feelings for Túrin – that mix of affection and loathing – as well as his grief for the loss of his son. Is Mîm jealous of how much Túrin loves Beleg? Is Amon Rûdh haunted? Is Mîm? Any Mîmfic would thrill me, particularly gen strongly focused on Mîm and Túrin being friends.

Túrin is my favorite character in the whole Legendarium (nay, the entire literary canon!), that poor cursed soul, and I love him overweening pride and all. Fic exploring the various great griefs in his life—being separated from his mother, the deaths of Beleg, Finduilas and Gwindor—would be awesome. Another thing to consider would be writing about when Tuor encounters Túrin in the woods:

And as they waited one came through the trees, and they saw that he was a tall Man, armed, clad in black, with a long sword drawn; and they wondered, for the blade of the sword also was black, but the edges shone bright and cold. Woe was graven in his face, and when he beheld the ruin of Ivrin he cried aloud in grief, saying: ‘Ivrin, Faelivrin! Gwindor and Beleg! Here once I was healed. But now never shall I drink the draught of peace again.’ - Unfinished Tales of Númenor and Middle-Earth

What if Tuor and Voronwë had met with Túrin, instead of watching him go on his way alone? 

I’m also always up for fucked up Túrin/Orodreth, where Túrin’s as in charge in the bedroom as he is in Nargothrond itself. I imagine Túrin is perpetually underwhelmed with Orodreth’s not-Belegness in every way (I listed humiliation as a DNW, but Túrin being insulting to most of Nargothrond is pretty much canon so it's not a problem in this case). Another possibility is Túrin/Brandir sex pollen! If you go this route, have it happen before Túrin and Niënor get together so there isn't a particularly angsty element to it.

Beleg/Túrin is the OTP of my heart, so anything involving them would be wonderful. Are you just waiting to unload some explicit Beleg/Túrin on someone? Unload it on me! Do you want to write a creepy gen or shippy story where Beleg and Túrin end up exploring ruined Dorthonion or abandoned parts of Dor-lómin? Do they find supernatural critters? Barrow-wights? Ghosts? Can they fight a vampire? (including Sauron or Thuringwethil would be exquisite)

if you would like to write about glaurung having his dragony way  (noncon, dubcon, consensual, whatever you want) with túrin that is good too as long as túrin survives the experience

Sunless Sea (The Captain)

What better setting for a tale of terror than the Unterzee?  I love the environment of Sunless Sea, as well as all the characters we get brief glimpses of—particularly the Wistful Deviless, the Carnelian Exile, and the Irrepressible Cannoneer. I’m afraid I don’t have any prompts that are too specific, since this is a canon where I want ANYTHING. Do you want to explore a particular port? Develop any of the NPCs? Do you want to write about a Zee Captain’s crew mutinying? Cannibalism? F!Zee Captain/Wistful Deviless after she gives the Deviless her soul? M!Zee Captain/Cannoneer sex where something explodes?  Xeno? This is another canon where I’d love docufic/metanarrative in the form of ship’s journals, scientific notes (a scientist Zee Captain would be a delight), or a Zee Story told by a lone survivor or a hard-on-her-luck Zee Captain. 

 What We Do in the Shadows (Pauline Ivanovich, Vladislav)

Another partial copy/paste job from Rare Pairs, because I am so thirsty (heh) for these two.

I am all about 800 year old vampires terrorizing Eastern Europe while having an incredibly tempestuous and hilarious relationship. I loved the tone and humor of What We Do in the Shadows, and the reveal of "the Beast's" true nature was one of my favorite parts. I'd like to see something exploring any of their past 800 years, whether it's their first meeting, or any sort of misadventure while eating people (separately or together). Pauline is someone I'd be particularly interested in seeing how she got on by herself, or how she became a vampire in the first place (pairing her up with an OFC is an exciting option).  Epistolary fic is very welcome, as is a narrative told with historical records and other evidence.
